other chilly delights

when i told friends that keith and i went fishing the other day, people said things like "hmmmmmm...neither of you seem like the type to go, um, fishing"

so i thought i'd better provide proof that i am as much of a tomboy as an exhibitionist...and that we rtfm types are indeed loony enough to get in a boat at 5:30 in the morning in freezing (yes, freezing, even in the bay area! there was ice on the docks! we froze our socks off!) temperatures to chase after silly fishes...

catching my own dinner reminds me to say thank you to my food for getting in my belly...and besides, rainbow trout is yummy!!! we caught three nice fishies, but i won't bore you with the story of the one that got away...

dark descending

i like hibernation time. i like the way the winter sky is like a blanket, somehow even when the clouds are dispersed. i like waking up early to see how even a grey winter day begins with gorgeous bold pink and orange echoing flowers yet to emerge. i like the way the cold and rain and darkness send my thoughts like roots of sleepy trees tunneling into dreamworlds to mine for images stories inspiration...the way decay creates the beautiful fodder for new sprouts to emerge...soon...soon...
